Justine works intuitively with colour, and paints instinctively. Her work is influenced by her travels, youth arts work, visits to galleries, her mood and the people around her.

She says, “With each new work I embark on a powerful journey that draws on spontaneity and symbolism to bridge the gap between the conscious and the subconscious. Working this way, I reveal emotion, expression and symbolism, producing on occasion positive therapeutic paintings which capture the spirit of the moment. Each painting has a secret.”

Justine's first solo exhibition took place in November 2001 in Belfast. Her most recent exhibition was in the Salamander Gallery in May 2010.

Justine has been involved with youth arts for the past 6 years. From 2004 - 2009 she worked for the Creative Youth Partnership (CYP) on a specialist art team working with foster care children & teenagers and their families until CYP ceased in April 2009.

She ran the Young Artists Group in Holywood Library from 2004 - 2009 and was an Ormeau Bath Gallery workshop facilitator from 2008 - 2009.

In 2007 she was awarded a bursary from the Arts Council to study for a Certificate in Youth Arts at the National University of Ireland in Maynooth. She completed this with first class honours.

Most recently Justine worked with children on a art project for a shopping centre.
